Friends of Fort Knox

The Friends of Fort Knox mission is to preserve Fort Knox and enhance its educational, cultural and economic value for the people of Maine. While Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory (PNO) are owned by the people of Maine, FoFK is under agreement to manage daily operations for both locations.  We are uniquely able to reinvest funds back to the State as well as many capital improvement projects ensuring the park will be enjoyed for generations to come.

We have multiple positions and folks of all ages and many walks of life who help us as regular volunteers (tour guides, gift shop, PNO Staff) as well as area clean up projects and special events like Pirate Parlay and Fright at the Fort.  Our volunteers are an integral part of how the Friends of Fort Knox (FoFK) is able to keep 80% of our fund raising dollars going back into the Fort and successfully accomplish our mission.  We have a great team with rewarding opportunities to impact your community.
