Who We Are

Our mission is to aid in providing independent home living services for the under-priviledged and under-served populations of Maine. Most specifically the elderly, disabled populations and those having difficult times. Independent Home Resources was founded in 2007 by Ila Mae RN.Over the last several years, we have serviced elderly, disabled and others with our multiple programs. We believe fully in assisting individuals who are in need, often times, those who are having financial difficulties and can't meet their normal financial responsibilities, due to lack of work, illness etc. Our primary office is located in Old Town, Maine, and services the entire State of Maine.

What We Do

Specifically, the Corporation was organized for the following purposes: 1. To promote a safe environment and promote a healthy lifestyle for under-priviledged and under-served individuals within the State of Maine who wish to remain independent while living in their own home. 2. To provide necessary education relating to public health and safety to the individuals that the Corporation serves. 3. To provide the professional personal care assistance training(s)necessary to the volunteers and caregivers working on behalf of Independent Home Resources in order to serve the targeted population. 4. To provide alternate resources relating to individual and home needs for further assistance to the individuals served and which are consistent with the goal of fostering independent living. 5. To further engage in, either directly or indirectly and either alone or in connection with other persons and organizations of every kind and nature, any and all activities which are incidental or related to the foregoing and are permissible activities for a charitable corporation under an organizational exempt from federal income taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Code.
