Join Our Money Minders Team and Make a Difference!
Are you organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping others? Become a Money Minders Volunteer and empower older adults and individuals with disabilities to manage their finances while maintaining their independence!
We are currently looking for volunteers in various Penobscot County towns, including Bradley, Brewer, Corinth, Garland, Orrington, and Veazie.
What You'll Do:
As a Money Minders volunteer, you’ll meet clients in their homes or a mutually agreed location, and help them with essential tasks such as:
- Balancing checkbooks and reconciling bank statements.
- Sorting mail, organizing bills, and setting up budgets.
- Tracking income and expenses and assisting with check-writing.
What to Expect:
- Confidentiality First: Protect the privacy of all client information.
- No Funds Control: Volunteers guide and assist but do not manage client accounts directly.
- Supportive Environment: Complete simple reconciliation forms and report hours and mileage monthly.
- Ongoing Training: Attend an annual in-service training and occasional meetings to enhance your skills.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with budgeting and financial organization.
- A commitment to reliability, accuracy, and compassion.
