Who We Are
Pine Tree Hospice staff and volunteers provide non-medical care, support, and education, with respect and dignity, to people journeying through progressive life-limiting illnesses, caregiving, and bereavement, thereby enhancing and honoring the quality of life.
What We Do
Direct Care Volunteers at Pine Tree Hospice visit individuals in homes and facilities. They are non-medical volunteers and primarily offer companionship. They may transport people to appointments, offer respite, check in with a phone call, do light housekeeping, go grocery shopping, play cards, and go for rides. In our rural area, many individuals are isolated, and a visit from a volunteer is often the high point in their week. Because we are a non-medical hospice, a volunteer can serve the same client for months or years.
