Who We Are

The Health Equity Alliance envisions a world in which all people are valued and celebrated, and health disparities such as HIV, Hepatitis C and AIDS-related deaths are nonexistent.

By facilitating collaboration, education, advocacy, and action, HEAL empowers marginalized communities to improve their health and well-being and affect social and cultural change.

What We Do

The Health Equity Alliance offers many services: 

  • Naloxone training and distribution
  • Harm Reduction supplies distribution
  • Food Pantry, Clothing Closet, and personal hygiene products distribution
  • HIV Medical Case Management
  • Substance Use Case Management for people who use IV Drugs
  • Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion Program (LEAD)
  • free HIV and HEP C testing
  • Free condoms
  • Educational Programs
  • Cultural Competency training
  • LGBT Youth Programs
  • and Support Groups.

HEAL also has a health equity center in the Bangor area in order to create a safe space and empower marginalized communities to change health disparities.
