Waldo Community Action Partners is a multi-service 501 (c)(3) non-profit community action agency founded in 1965. Designated as such by the Economic Opportunities Act of 1964 to combat poverty, WCAP serves the residents of rural Waldo County, Maine with a mission “to create opportunities for people to improve their quality of life,†and endeavors to address community problems and obstacles that prevent families from thriving.
What We Do
To achieve the ultimate goal of poverty alleviation and elimination, Waldo Community Action Partners’ efforts are concentrated in four essential quality of life services that yield positive results for individuals striving to lead meaningful and productive lives:
Housing and repair services: Waldo County
Energy assistance services: Waldo County
Family services (such as Head Start, Early Head Start): Waldo County
Transportation services: Waldo, Knox, Lincoln, and Sagadahoc Counties
