The Maine Forest and Logging Museum demonstrates and recreates the machines and skills of our State's logging past. Metal is the focus of this event: Blacksmiths (they'll let you give it a try); sawmills; woodsplitters; metal casting and Lombard log haulers. There will also be demonstrations of wood working and fiber spinning. We will be serving bean hole beans, reflector oven biscuits, and strawberry shortcakes. We need volunteers to staff gate, gift shop and food serving areas. Come apprentice for the event and learn to demonstrate the machinery at another event.
