Description

The Christine B Foundation is a Bangor-based service-providing nonprofit striving to support those facing cancer by extending access to healthy food, nutritional information, and community connections essential to their strength and comfort.

The Cancer Nutrition Assistance Program through CBF offers access to both a Fresh Produce Prescription program at our pick up locations in Brewer and Dover-Foxcroft and Home Delivery of medically tailored grocery packages for patients with cancer, recent survivors, and their families. This program supports over 1,500 Mainers every year across the state, providing over 600,000 equivalent meals since March of 2020.

Thanks to 100+ volunteers working in various parts of this effort, CBF remains committed to keep this service at no cost to recipients.

Food Vendor Pick Up Driver:

CBF is looking for volunteer Food Vendor Pick Up Drivers to pick up food products from various vendors in the Bangor region and unload at the CBF Bangor site. CBF orders food products from our various partners and relies on volunteers to pick up and bring them to the Bangor distribution site.

Volunteer Role:

CBF is looking for a volunteer(s) who are comfortable lifting heavy objects (can be 40+ lbs), have reliable transportation, can drive a 9' cargo van, and can maintain the CBF mission with partner sites.

On Monday, from 7am-9:30am, the volunteer group would meet at the CBF Fulfillment Site on Hancock Street, pick up the CBF Cargo Van, and gather orders from two to three vendor locations in Hampden  and Bangor. Once all orders are loaded into the vehicle, the driver will return the product to the CBF Fulfillment Site and assist in unloading.
