Would you like to help provide nutritious meals for homebound older adults throughout Hancock County? Come volunteer with our Meals on Wheels team! We need volunteers to help with packing and delivering meals. Our meal hub operates out of Ellsworth, where volunteers pick up meals to deliver to homes throughout Hancock County.
Packing Meals on Wheels:
- Packers meet on Tuesday mornings at our base in Ellsworth.
- Frozen meal trays are packed in cooler bags for each person, being sure they meet their dietary restrictions.
Delivering Meals on Wheels:
- Drivers pick up the packaged meals in Ellsworth on Tuesdays and deliver throughout Hancock County - right now we particularly need drivers for many routes, from right in Ellsworth to routes that cover as far away as Winter Harbor and Deer Isle.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Along with delivering the meals, our drivers are a friendly face and regular check-in for the people we serve!
